Storytime Expeditions

Are you a parent or teacher looking to introduce young children to world cultures? Join us for Storytime Expeditions! Unlike reading at home or in the classroom, Storytime Expeditions offer unique, immersive learning experiences. Get comfortable amongst real ancient artifacts listening to stories specially selected to highlight the cultures featured in the Penn Museum’s galleries. Touchable artifacts and a guided look around the gallery reinforce the ideas and themes established in the story.

This hands-on learning opportunity not only broadens world cultural knowledge, but also establishes basic museum literacy and critical thinking skills. This program is designed for children between the ages of 4 and 9.

For Teacher and Homeschool Groups:

Stories are selected to appeal to a K-3rd grade age bracket, and lesson plans can be adapted to the needs of your students. We have books and a selection of touchable objects from our Teaching Collection for every gallery in the museum, including China, Japan, Egypt, Africa, Central and South America, The Middle East, and more! Available with advanced booking.
